The WOWCares Initiative, a community-driven project by the WOW Organization, brought smiles and hope to women and children in Surulere on December 12, 2024. The event focused on giving back to the community by distributing economic palliatives and end-of-the-year gift items. Attendees described the day as fulfilling, with the recipients’ joyful expressions and outpouring of gratitude highlighting the impact of the initiative.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Executive Chairman of Surulere Local Government, Hon. Bamidele Suleiman Yusuf, who commended the organizers for their efforts. In his remarks, he said, “Many thanks to Mr. Yinka Odeajo and the WOWCares Initiative team for putting smiles on the faces of the Surulere Local Government women.”

He further praised Mr. Odeajo for his generosity, stating, “There are few people who work privately and also give back to the community out of the little they have. Mr. Yinka Odeajo is one of the few. We are grateful for this extension of grace in the form of the palliatives distributed to the women.”

Other prominent figures in attendance included the Vice Chairman of Surulere Local Government, Prince Muiz Adewale Dosumu; Secretary, Mr. Kehinde Agoro; Mr . Adewusi; and Mr. Yinka Jonathan. Together, they joined in celebrating the success of the initiative and its impact on the community.

The beneficiaries, predominantly women, received much-needed relief during the festive season, with many expressing heartfelt appreciation. The palliatives, aimed at alleviating economic burdens, were a timely intervention, particularly for those most in need. The women’s smiles and expressions of gratitude underscored the importance of such initiatives in fostering hope and goodwill within the community.
