Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang Makes History as Ghana’s First Female Vice President

Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has made history as Ghana’s first female Vice President, marking a significant milestone in the country’s political landscape.

With a distinguished academic background, Professor Opoku-Agyemang holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education, specializing in English and French, from the University of Cape Coast.

She also earned a Diploma in Advanced Studies from the University of Dakar, as well as a master’s and doctorate from York University in Canada.

Her scholarly work has focused on literature, oral traditions, and issues relating to the African diaspora.

As Ghana’s former Minister of Education, Professor Opoku-Agyemang played a key role in advancing inclusive education, particularly through the Inclusive Education Policy.

She has been a staunch advocate for gender equality, using her influence to improve educational access for women and girls.
