As part of its ongoing commitment to empowering young girls and promoting menstrual health awareness, the Women of Will (WOW) Cares Initiative under the WOW Pad Bank Project 2025 held another impactful outreach on Tuesday, 21st October 2025, at Olorunfunmi Senior Grammar School, Egbe/Idimu, Lagos.
The event, organized in partnership with HRM Oba Noah Subakat Adefimihan Madarikan II, the Onidimu of Idimu, aimed at educating young girls on menstrual hygiene and ensuring that no girl misses school because of her period.
Speaking during the session, Deborah Jayeoba, the team leader of the Women of Will Organisation, sensitized the students on the importance of menstrual hygiene, proper disposal of sanitary materials, and maintaining confidence during their menstrual cycle. She emphasized that menstruation is a natural process and encouraged the girls to embrace it with pride rather than shame.
“Our goal is to ensure that every girl understands her body and has the resources she needs to stay healthy, confident, and in school,” said Deborah Jayeoba. “Menstruation should never be a reason for absenteeism or embarrassment.”
The initiative was spearheaded by Mr. Yinka Odeajo, the visioneer of the Women of Will Organization, whose leadership continues to drive the group’s charitable missions across communities. Mr. Odeajo reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting young girls through consistent advocacy, education, and access to menstrual hygiene products.
The event also featured an interactive session with the students and the distribution of free sanitary pads, made possible through the support of Oge’s Language and other partners. The students expressed deep gratitude for the outreach, noting that the education and supplies received would make a meaningful difference in their lives.
The WOW Pad Bank Project 2025 continues to spread its message of empowerment and health education, ensuring that menstrual hygiene is not just a topic of discussion but a sustained movement toward equity and dignity for girls.
