Posted: 29 Oct, 2026

Olamide’s journey reflects the power of education, determination, professional excellence and a commitment to making a difference. Her interest in law began in childhood, influenced by stories her father shared about Nigeria’s political history and the career of renowned lawyer Chief Rotimi Williams.

She pursued her passion at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where she obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree, before attending the Nigerian Law School. She later earned a Master of Laws degree in International Trade Law from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.

Her professional journey has seen her build extensive experience in litigation, commercial dispute resolution, oil and gas, arbitration, election petitions and regulatory compliance. As a partner at Afe Babalola & Co., also known as Emmanuel Chambers, she has established herself as a respected legal practitioner, with experience appearing before the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

On October 12, 2026, Olamide was formally sworn in as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria alongside 67 other legal practitioners. Her elevation represents the culmination of years of dedication to her profession and places her among the distinguished practitioners recognised for excellence in legal practice.

Beyond her professional achievements, she has highlighted the need to address delays in Nigeria’s justice system, advocating reforms that would make the administration of justice more efficient and accessible. She has also emphasised the importance of mentoring younger lawyers, particularly women, and upholding the highest standards of professional conduct.

Olamide Ehinfun-Adekunle’s story is a testament to what women can achieve through dedication, continuous learning and a commitment to excellence. By reaching this historic milestone at 40, she has become a source of inspiration to young women aspiring to excel in law and other traditionally demanding professions.

Her achievement is not just a personal victory; it is a reminder that women continue to break barriers, occupy influential positions and shape the future of their professions.

Olamide Ehinfun-Adekunle is a woman whose journey reminds us that excellence is built through years of hard work, and that breaking barriers creates new possibilities for the women who follow.
